“After 8 rounds of wireframe iterations and several a-ha moments, I had arrived at establishing the fundamental layout and transition pattern for the mobile UI. We agreed it carried the spirit of the original title AND fits neatly within a tiny “4-inch box”. The team of 5 of us delivered it in 9 months.

Understand what problems worth solving is half of the assignment
From story-telling to gameplay, the game itself is the UI. We often find ourselves at the intersection of managing friction vs. immersion:
“Is this the place to leave, or stay?”
“Is this the moment they need to be persuaded, or be challenged?”

The challenge wasn't just visual design
It was rebuilding the interface while keeping it familiar to PC players and avoiding disruption to existing assets, animations, effects, and especially the front-end code.

Designed for device, by a human
Here’s a personal believe that I alway shared with the team: Never make decisions and draw conclusions without experience it first on the intended physical device.
The path to iterative design for everything from mobile to VR is only faster with AI, don’t let inconvenience stops us from doing what we are best for - being a human.
